Young People's Division (YPD)
The Young People’s Division (YPD) is a connectional church ministry established under the Women’s Missionary Society (WMS). Youth are taught Christian values and AME history. Young people are equipped for service by participating in mission and community outreach activities.
The Church School provides a Biblical foundation for Christian growth and development. It teaches, trains, and nurtures members for Christian service by emphasizing Christian principles based on God’s word.
Vacation Bible School
VBS Ministry uses a theme based curriculum to study the Bible through fun activities and fellowship.
Classes are taught in Bible Study to help members gain a deeper understanding of God’s word so that they will strengthen their relationship with God.
Christian Débutantes & Masters Commission (CDMC)
The Christian Debutantes and Masters Commission introduces young people to Christian society and celebrates their transition to adulthood. The purpose of the CDMC is to provide guidance and information as to relevant study of field work activities. Young people who participate in the CDMC receive regular and special study programs for personal Christian development and creative leadership in the AME Church.

Class Leaders' Ministry
The Class Leaders’ Ministry mission is to watch over members of their class by inquiring how each soul prospers, report to the Official Board those who are sick and or shut-in, and visit members from time to time.
The mission of the hospitality ministry is to provide the church with relevant information about upcoming events through church announcements and other media. They are also responsible for extending personal greetings of welcome to visitors as well as interact with them and show them Christian love.
The mission of the Lay Organization is to instill in its membership a love and appreciation for the history, tradition and principles of African Methodism; advocate respect and loyalty to constituted authority; encourage the support of the total program of the local church and foster systematic and regular study which will provide greater knowledge and participation in the church; organizing and training lay members concerning the goals and objectives of the Connectional Lay Organization.
The Pulpit Aide Ministry is responsible for addressing the needs of the pastor and his family. They provide necessities for the pastor’s study, pulpit, and whatever is needed to enhance his ministry. This ministry plans and implements the annual Pastor’s Appreciation Program.
Sons of Allen
The Sons of Allen is a connectional ministry whose purpose is to seek, lead, encourage, teach and empower men to become involved in the life of the church and the community. The Sons of Allen fosters closer relationships between men of the church and present positive role models to young males.
The Pastor nominates the stewards, and they are confirmed by the Quarterly Conference to serve a one year term. The stewards’ duties include transacting the spiritual and temporal business of the church. Stewards are responsible for the finances, Pastor’s needs, and welfare of the church members.
The Pastor nominates candidates for trustees who are then elected by members of the church. The trustees manage the temporal and physical concerns of the church. They are responsible for all real estate, parsonages, schools and any other property obtained by the church.
Usher Board (Senior and Junior)
Ushers serve the mission of being doorkeepers in the house of the Lord and are responsible for greeting and welcoming members and visitors. This is one of the most important ministries of the church whose ultimate goal is to display through Christian love, a warm, loving and welcoming environment in our church. Senior Ushers serve on the First and Second Sundays. Junior Ushers serve on the Third and Fourth Sundays.
Emily C. Jones Women's Missionary Society (WMS)
As women called to discipleship to grow in knowledge and experience of God through Jesus Christ, committed to support the mission of the church, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, members of the Women’s Missionary Society are challenged to help one another engage in ministry and action, and grow and respond in faith to God’s redemptive plan for the church, the society and the world. At Mt. Carmel, the WMS outreach ministries include: partnerships with the Callen-Lacey Children’s Shelter, Berkeley Middle School and Delta Pharmacy; soup kitchen, sick and shut-ins, and providing scholarships for college students.
Women in Ministry (WIM)
Mt. Carmel A.M.E. WIM participates and supports the District, Conference and Episcopal programs of the WIM. Locally, WIM sponsors an Annual Pre-Mother’s Day Luncheon & Spa, Women’s Conferences, and summer Women’s Bible Study & Prayer services.
The Connectional Women in Ministry (WIM) is a network of women preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ within our Zion. Current membership is more than 3,350 serving on 6 of the 7 continents.
Daughters of Sarah (DOS)
The mission of the Daughters of Sarah is to promote a greater understanding and appreciation of the spiritual and social aspects of the church. Its’ motto is “To Serve Others.” Women are encouraged to be involved in service activities in the community, church and outreach projects.
The Stewardesses are responsible for dressing the pulpit and altar with the appropriate covering for the various seasons of the Christian year. They provide the implements and elements of the Holy Communion and Holy Baptism and assist the Pastor, when directed, during the Holy Communion services.

Praise Dance Ministry
The Music and Worship Arts Ministry uses voices, musical instruments, and dance to praise and worship God. The choirs are composed of youth, young adult, and adult members of the church. The Praise Team is composed of the youth who sing every Sunday prior to the opening of the Morning Worship Service. The Praise Dance Team is composed of youth and young adults who express worship through the beauty and movement of dance.
